Founded in 1999 on one man's vision for Bagodar.
Founded in 1999 by Devendra Prasad — with the vision of bringing good schooling to an area that had very little of it — 10+2 Saraswati Vidya Niketan Resi. High School is recognised under affiliation 319/2008-09. The campus in Bagodar runs from Play Group right through to Class XII, with classrooms, smart boards and a hostel for boys and girls drawn from Giridih and neighbouring districts.

Before 1999
A place with few choices
Bagodar and the villages around it had very few options for education. For many families, a good school close to home simply did not exist.
The Vision
One man decided to change that
Devendra Prasad believed the children of this area deserved a proper education — without having to leave home to find it. He resolved to build that school himself.
1999
The school opens
In 1999 that vision became real: Devendra Prasad founded Saraswati Vidya Niketan, and its doors opened to the children of Bagodar.

What followed were years of struggle and dedication — building the school up step by step, class by class, until it reached Class XII.
Today
A school for the whole block
Today Saraswati Vidya Niketan teaches children from Play Group to Class XII, with smart classrooms, a residential hostel and a team of dedicated teachers — the vision behind 1999, still growing.

Our Journey
Milestones over the years.
1999
Foundation
With very few options for education in the area, Devendra Prasad founds Saraswati Vidya Niketan and opens its doors to Bagodar's children.
2008
Girls' Hostel Opens
A dedicated residential wing for girls was added, doubling campus capacity.
2012
Secondary Wing
Classes were extended up to Class X with the first science laboratory block.
2017
Smart Classrooms
Digital boards were installed across the middle and secondary wings.
2022
New Sports Complex
A full-size playground, indoor games hall and running track were completed.
2023
Senior Secondary (+2)
The school extended to Class XII with Science, Arts and Commerce streams.
2025
105 Students Above 90%
In the 2024–25 annual examination, 105 of 511 students scored 90% or more — and every student passed.
